Using Camp Staff to Run Local Programs

Summer camps are resource rich when it comes to enthusiastic well trained staff that is ready to work with young people.  Local congregations, in contrast, often have access to local resources, parks, pools, volunteer staff and clergy that are not always available at Camp.  This workshop is about connecting those resources and developing a partnership that will help grow both a local ministries and summer camp programs.  The Diocese of Montana has been taking summer camp staff into local communities for four years now and has begun to see some expected and some unexpected benefits from the creation of local Day Camps.  At this workshop, Director, David Campbell, will share the development of this new ministry in the diocese of Montana.
