This train the trainers seminar is designed to prepare individuals
to lead the Safeguarding God's Children workshops in their congregation or diocese. To attend the Long Hike workshop, individuals
must have permission from the rector, vicar or diocesan leader. (See the Downloads page to get the right form.)
Mary Ball
Mary has been a resident of Vail since 1980. She grew up in Chicago
and graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Textile Science. In 1984 she married her husband Christopher
in the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Vail. They have two sons, Nathan at Boston College and Joshua at Virginia
Tech. Mary has been involved with children and youth ministry at Transfiguration since 1990. She has served as a volunteer
Sunday school teacher, Sunday school coordinator, nursery caregiver, and youth leader. Mary has participated in three international
mission trips and also been the church teasurer. In 2001 she was hired as a part-time Director of Children's Ministry and
in 2002 became the full-time Director of Children and Youth Ministries. Mary is currently working on her Master's in Christian
Education from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia. She expects to graduate in May 2007.
